Markets teach you something new every time. Last Friday was my first at Romford Market on a weekday - and while it was a quieter day, the conversations reminded me of why we do this. From a mum and her young daughter relieved to finally find dairy-free treats, to chatting with someone dreaming of starting their own stall, it's was about more than just cakes.

It isn't always easy balancing market life with everything else, but I'm reminded that the connections matter just as much.

This marbled two-tier cake was made just for her, with peonies, pastel colour and love.

Our Orange & Polenta Cake is a little more of a grown-up treat. Made with less sugar, but still full of flavour - spiced with a gentle masala blend and glazed with orange zest syrup - its fragrant, satisfying, and not too sweet.

The truth is, when we started Marisola Parlour, we wanted every part of the experience to feel considered- not flashy, just thoughtful. For so long, there were so few options that catered for people like us - gluten-free, plant-based and allergy-friendly - that also felt like a luxury treat.
